Gavin is immensely proud to continue the family legacy with ESL. Started by his grandfather Alvin 'Mac' Mcwatt, the business evolved into earthmoving and cartage. Gavin's parents Laurence and Toni took over the business in the late 1970s and expanded it.
Having grown up surrounded by trucks and machinery Gavin's dedication to transport and machinery was only natural. With over 35 years experience in the industry, Gavin is the guy you want when the going gets tough, thriving when faced with a challenge and fronting up to head each operation, leading by example. Gavin looks at every job differently, thinking outside the box because "just because it was done that way yesterday, we can do it even better today and better again tomorrow". With a huge appreciation for the knowledge and skills passed down through the generations, Gavin loves meeting people and constantly strives to learn and build on a wealth of expertise to ensure that ESL continue to lead the way in finding innovative solutions in earthworks and excavation.
Keeping the wheels running smoothly is Gavin's daughter Abby. A qualified fitness instructor with a passion for health and fitness, as a 4th generation McWatt Abby invaluably grew up with the business, learning the ins and outs of the industry from an early age.
With skills of all kind from efficient organizing, driving machinery to accounts she is definitely one of a kind! Working hard in & out of the office, Abby is the point of contact should you not initially reach Gavin or Marc; she is well able to point you in the right direction.
